Parking Restrictions

Roads in OSP are Closed from 8pm until 10am

If you arrive after 8pm, the road into the main area will be blocked and you are asked to camp in the late night arrival area at the entry near the registration tent. The road will reopen at 10am in the morning for entry into the main OSP area.

Tents, tent trailers, van conversions and pickup campers

We currently have permission for ONLY these vehicles to drive beyond the graveled 800 and 802 roadways. Only these vehicles are allowed in the tree line north of the 800 road or on either of the 802 spurs beyond the graveled area to go into the trees to park and camp. Only one trip in and one trip out is permitted. If you are going to use your vehicle during the week, you must park next to the graveled road, preferably on the east end of the 800 road near the Registration Tent.

Overflow parking along the dirt extensions off the 802 roadway is only permitted after the USFS changes it's mind during OSP. There will be signs posted along those spurs to indicate how far parking alongside the dirt road is allowed.

All other RVs

All motor homes, hard sided trailers, and other large vehicles must be parked within 100' of the graveled 800 or 802 roadway. (see site map here). The US Forest Service requires that we park motor home and trailers perpendicular to the roadway and not parallel to the roadway.

The US Forest Service may change these restrictions at any time, even during the OSP event.

NO PARKING is allowed in the viewing areas beyond 100' of the graveled roadway, except in the tree line. You may drive out into the viewing area, drop off telescope equipment, but must immediately drive back to the roadway and park, before you set up your equipment..
