Mentoring
The Oregon Star Party this year is again
offering an Adult Telescope Mentoring program. This is an opportunity for
you to get one-on-one help with your telescope. Do you have problems
setting it up, guiding, finding objects, using CCD, astrophotography,
etc.?
We'll do our best to match you up with a knowledgeable Mentor, and get you
the help you are looking for.
The change this year is that we are not going to try to schedule the
mentoring sessions.
We will provide a sign-up a sheet for people in need of help or advice.
This sheet will be at the Information Tent. We will have knowledgeable
people watching the list. If one of them has the skills to help you, they
will reply. The two of you will then decide on a mutually convenient time
and place to meet for the session.
As was true last year, a mentor's time commitment to a session will remain
90 minutes.
There will be a limited number of mentors and the new system will require
some communication to select a time. So, if you are interested, sign up as
early as possible.
This program is offered for Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings.
Again, this is a limited program, but we'll do our best to help you.
Are you willing to share your
knowledge as a Mentor?
We need Mentors to help with
everything from "Which End Is Up" to CCD imaging.
Contact Mark Dakins at OSP if you are willing to be a mentor.
