Volunteers

Oregon Star Party runs on volunteer power. If you would like to volunteer, check out the positions listed below - then head over to the Contact Us page to let us know which position(s) you are interested in. Volunteer positions are filled on a first come, first served basis, so sign up early and often.

Information Tent

Answer questions about OSP activities, lost & found, OSP message board. Help with general volunteer needs. Direct question regarding youth activities, adult and youth mentoring, and first aid to the appropriate committee member.

Registration Tent

Assist with checking in and registering new arrivals. Greet attendees and answer questions as needed.

Greeter at Reg Tent

Greet all cars entering OSP. Encourage visitors to stop at registration tent to register or check in. Provide parking instructions, camping guidelines, and 5 mph speed limit information to visitors.

Gate Entry Volunteer Requirements

Stop drivers at stop sign, just before and just after Registration Tent's regular hours. Encourage visitors to revisit Registration Tent when open, to register or check in. Provide parking instructions, camping guidelines, and 5 mph speed limit information to visitors.

Activities Tent

Assist Activities Tent team members as needed with set up, clean up, errands, and other tasks.

Greeter stationed at the 800 & 802 Junction

Of primary importance is to minimize traffic and speed. Stop every vehicle going in and out on the 802 road. Provide camping and parking guidelines, especially for drivers of RV's, trailers, and conversions. Offer copies of site map.

Shower Truck Ticket Collector

Collect tickets at shower truck. Direct people to Information and Registration Tents to purchase tickets. This position requires an early morning shift on Friday and Saturday mornings.

Photographer Assist

Assist photographer with crowd control before and during Saturday afternoon's group photo.

Site Setup

Help with greeting early arrivals, sign placement, and set up of tent interiors.

Site Breakdown

Take down signs, pack tent interiors. Walk OSP site and collect litter.

Flyer Squad

Respond on the fly to needs that may come up unexpectedly.
